About Us...

Sarah Macone is the owner Fairhaven Iberians. She runs all of our social media accounts, takes care of Xemino's breed book, website and keeps up with mare owners and breedings throughout the year. She also does all of our promotional advertising and sales. You will most often see her acting as "groom" behind the scenes of most events to get it all done and everyone happy! She also works a regular job and is the caretaker of all the horses that reside at Fairhaven Iberians, with lots of help from her father Douglas, other half James Ferguson and good friend/assistant/work-wife Kaitlin Doherty. Sarah also works closely with her good friend Michelle Clarke of Casa do Noble Lusitanos/Rancho Bayo where Xemino resides and stands. Sarah and Michelle's goal is to create amateur friendly Lusitano's and Lusitano crosses. With the help of Xemino, this goal is becoming achievable!

When she is not being Xemino's personal assistant, she enjoys riding her other horses with her father and friends to relax as well as working with our young horses. Sarah started riding at the age of 3 and has been involved with horses ever since. She grew up riding hunter jumper, switched to western in later years, has trained in reining and dressage, dabbled in driving, mounted shooting and has even worked some cattle. She would like to start pursuing Western Dressage and Working Equitation in the future. Overall her favorite thing to do is play and work with our youngest stock!

Her father Douglas Macone was the reason for getting her involved in horses and still is the reason today. Doug is an active member of the community and loves to trail ride the horses and participate in parades. He is a member of the Concord Independent Battery which is the oldest horse drawn artillery in the country. He is also a Shriner and a member of the Shriner's Mounted Patrol. He usually is in a parade once a month and also donates the horses for pony rides once a year for the children in the Shriner's Burn Hospital.

Our breeding business will remain small, as we are not a large farm. And in the cold of the Northeast we are limited in our pasture capabilities over the course of the year. If you are interested in getting a foal out of one of our mares, contact us for details.
